HCF Launched Library Make-over Project

In March 2012, a school that was affected by the flood was introduced to HCF. When the team went to check the library, it was agreed right then that the library needed a huge make-over. HCF's goal was not to make it functional like before but to turn it into something new and attractive to young readers.

HCF collected and delivered new quality books, painted the shelves, and put up new decors on the wall. It was a big task but the result was very satisfying. The principal and the school staff were as grateful as the students when they saw the big change.

As one of the quotations on the library wall says, "There is no substitute for books in the life of a child." So HCF continues to work with the hope that every child will have the opportunity to have access to quality books.

In addition to the library make-over, HCF also provided 1-day refresher course for the school's local teachers.

The library was submerged in floodwater by  almost 1 meter for more than a
month.

It took 3 visits until HCF completed the make-over project.

The project was completed on time. Thanks to the team's  resourcefulness,
creativity, and hard  work . Some Grade 6 students helped , too.

HCF delivered to the principal and students what was promised to the school.

HCF teaching team spent a full day sharing methods and techniques in
teaching English.

HCF Offers Free English Classes To Schools

"We don't just wait for them to come. We go to them!"
This is one of the objectives of the foundation and what's in the hearts of our volunteer teachers. They know that by doing so, they would be able to serve more and meet those who need their services the most.

October English Program Completed Amid Flood Threat

Despite threat of flood that continues to haunt the entire city of Bangkok, HCF teaching team managed to complete another English Program that served more than 50 children.

The month of October is a holiday for all public schools in Thailand, thus, we all look forward to this month where more children could avail of our free English classes. We were blessed that floodwater had not reached our area before we were done with the program.

To date, the floodwater has started to creep in our area and we have to close the HCF center until the floodwater subsides.
